Clear billing, time-away and cancellation rules for new agreements from October 21, 2026. Existing members keep the terms they already agreed to.
Agreement version: CBJJ-MEMBERSHIP-2026-10-21-1
1. Price and payments
Adults: $80 + 13% HST ($90.40 total) every 14 days. Kids: $70 + 13% HST ($79.10 total) every 14 days. Membership covers the classes in your chosen program. Any agreed discount applies to your recurring payment.
There is no long-term contract. Billing starts when you authorize your subscription through Helcim and continues until cancellation is completed under the rules below. Helcim shows your payment schedule before you agree. Signing this form does not charge your card.
Optional Rate Lock Guarantee — recommended, not required. Select it when registering to pay one extra biweekly payment once at signup: adults $80 + 13% HST ($90.40), kids $70 + 13% HST ($79.10). An approved family discount applies to both your recurring payment and this one-time fee. The first membership payment and fee are due together; normal billing continues every 14 days. This fee buys the guarantee, not an additional training period.
After the first membership payment and one-time fee are verified as paid, your agreed before-tax rate is protected from future price increases for the life of your continuous membership in that age category, and no final cancellation payment is due. A child moving into adult classes pays the adult rate in effect at the transition; the guarantee then protects that adult rate, not the former child rate. Applicable taxes may change. Separate purchases are not covered.
The guarantee ends if you cancel, leave and rejoin, or your membership is terminated for non-payment. A failed payment does not by itself cancel your guarantee while the account remains open and you resolve the balance. Ordinary vacations and work absences do not pause billing. Legally required accommodations remain available and do not automatically remove the guarantee. Standard memberships without the guarantee may change price with the notice and agreement required by law.
A $30 day pass plus HST is a separate purchase and is not credited toward membership. If a payment fails, contact us to resolve it. Training may be suspended while an amount you owe remains unpaid. This agreement does not add a failed-payment fee.
2. Time away and existing agreements
These terms apply to new memberships signed under this agreement version. Existing members keep the terms they already agreed to. Publishing this policy does not change an earlier agreement.
New memberships do not pause for vacations or work absences. Billing continues unless you cancel or arrange a medical accommodation or another accommodation required by law.
If injury, illness or disability affects your training, email codeblackbjj@gmail.com. We consider your needs individually and confirm any dates and billing changes in writing. If supporting documents are reasonably needed, they should describe your ability to train and expected time away; a diagnosis is not normally needed. Tell us if obtaining documents is difficult. We will address document costs where required by law. Do not put medical documents in this form.
3. Cancellation and your final training period
Request cancellation using our website form or by emailing codeblackbjj@gmail.com. We record the date your request arrives and confirm your last payment and final training date. We normally respond within three business days. Our processing time does not extend your billing or reduce your legal rights.
No final cancellation payment is required if you cancel within 14 days after the later of receiving your written agreement and the day all services are available. If you selected and paid for the Rate Lock Guarantee, its one-time fee and the tax on that fee are refundable when you cancel in this window. Membership payments are refundable where required by law. Your cancellation and refund rights under Ontario law apply. Other legal cancellation, refund and accommodation rights remain in place; this 14-day fee-free policy does not limit them.
After that window, cancellation without a paid Rate Lock Guarantee includes one final paid 14-day training period. A successful regular payment on the same calendar day as your cancellation request counts as that final payment, so there is no additional payment. We use the local date in Embrun, Ontario.
If your most recent successful payment was on an earlier day, one final payment is due on your next regular billing date. It is the same amount as your normal recurring payment, including any agreed discount and applicable tax. You can finish your current paid period and then train for the final 14-day period. Billing stops after that final payment. There is no separate cancellation fee on top of it.
With a verified paid Rate Lock Guarantee, no further cancellation payment is added. Billing stops before the next renewal and you can train through your currently paid period. The one-time guarantee fee is otherwise non-refundable after the 14-day fee-free window, except where the law requires a refund. Amounts you already owe remain payable.
We confirm the last day you can train and when access ends. Any amounts you already owe remain payable, but you can still submit a cancellation request. Payments are not refunded simply because you change your mind, except where the law requires a refund. Refunds required by law are made within the legal deadline. If you return later, you must authorize recurring billing again.
4. Your agreement
I have read and agree to these membership terms, my optional Rate Lock Guarantee selection, the amount due at signup, the recurring payments and the applicable cancellation rule. I sign voluntarily. My training waiver is checked separately before training, online or on paper. This membership agreement does not replace that waiver. Payment requires a separate authorization through Helcim.
Electronic signing
I have read these terms, checked each acknowledgment and entered my initials. My typed or drawn signature is my electronic signature. I agree to electronic records and to receiving my signed copy by email. I can save or print it.
